Dessert Pizza

Dessert Pizza: Strawberry, Banana, Jam & Chocolate Pizza. I’ve always wanted to try a dessert pizza and I've tried many different kinds before. Like fish types with artichoke and anchovies. I got an opportunity when I had some extra strawberries and bananas one hand.

Since most stores are carry strawberries at low prices. I need a way to use them creatively before they spoiled, and I didn't want to use them for dessert. Been ____...done that. After some free time searching online and through old cook books, dating as far back as Ms. Washington, I found some inspiration from a source I would not normally use; Paula Deen at Food Network.

Ms. Dean is a good cook and I have eating in your Georgia restaurant. Not to be cruel but I found her food to not be as good as I thought. I can cook better old fashion simple southern meals, and I'm not tooting my own horn. I thought Paula's dishes would be 4 or 5 stars restaurant quality but with a down home flair.

Her recipe served as an outline for me thought I made a few minor changes. I need a way to simplify this receipe and make it a quick dessert pizza but still retain it's flavor. Most mom's and parents today do not have much time on their hands. So in place of my usual refrigerated dough, I make by hand and from scratch, I used a Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix. I substituted almond or orange extract for vanilla extract, and strawberry jam stood in for the marmalade. A little powdered sugar went into the cream cheese along with a small amount of grated chocolate as a topping. I only had enough bananas and strawberries left over to use as mostly a fruit topping, but it was enough to make this a scrumptious dessert.

You should really try this dessert pizza out yourself one night when you stay in to eat. As many of us are today trying to find ways to save money. You can use short cuts to simplify this recipe.
