How To Enhance Eyes?

Your eyes are the most important feature when you are doing your make-up. Whether they are small, deep-set or large, using these techniques will definitely draw the attention your eyes deserve.

The first step to achieving Dynamic Eyes is to use a highlighter like a light beige color and apply it from the nose, (the thickness of the brush) following up under the eye brow and extend to the hairline. Then using a large brush and start from the nose and blend the highlighter upward towards the brows and the hairline.

Now we are going to apply the eye shadow. To give your eyes dimension we are going to be using three different eye shadows. The first color is going to be the darkest color and your base color. Apply this shadow from your eye lashes to the bottom of the Beige highlighter in the previous step. Remember this color needs to be relatively dark so that you can use two other colors that will be lighter than the base (first shadow) color.
Next you will apply your eye liner. For an eye liner you can use a pencil, but for best results you will want to use a flat eye shadow and a firm thin bristle brush like our Brow Brush. By using the shadow instead of a pencil you will get a well defined line that is more natural in appearance. You will also find your eye liner will stay on longer. Always start from the outside of your eye and work inwards towards your nose.

This will help you to make both eyes more symmetrical. Another key note is start your liner slightly away from the point where the top and bottom lid meet, on the inside and the outside of your eyes. Always remember to apply your liner thicker on the outside of the eye and thinner towards the inside. You will be amazed at how much this simple technique will dramatically open up your eyes.

Now it is time for the second eye shadow. This shadow needs to be one shade lighter than the base shadow, because we want this area to come out more. This is how you can bring out deep set eyes. Start the application at the top of the liner over your base shadow to the crease of your eye. Remember to stop the application at the crease. If you go above it you will only emphasize the heaviness of the lid.

Now you will move on to that third shadow. This shadow needs to be one shade lighter than the second shadow, or two shades lighter than your base shadow. The reason for this is this color is going to highlight your eye brows, which is what creates most of the expressions you make with your face. You will apply this shadow from the crease of your eye to the bottom of the eye brow.

Next you will apply your mascara to the top and bottom lashes. So I do not make this tip to wordy, please read our beauty tip on the proper method of applying your mascara. You will now get your highlighter and apply it under your eyes and blend away any excess. This will help to alleviate any dark circles by bring that area forward. Now you can take your large complexion brush and blend all the eye shadows together. You are finished.

Applying your make-up is nothing more than manipulating the shadows and highlight on the face. This is one reason to use a highlighter and not a "concealer". The highlighter is used to bring an area forward that creates a shadow you do not want (i.e. dark circles under the eyes or laugh lines and wrinkles). Also by adding shadows at strategic places on your face you can enhance the dimensionality of your face (i.e. alleviating puffy lids). We live in a three dimensional world, and by using these techniques along with our cosmetics, you will be able to take full advantage of it. Remember its your turn to be fierce.

Beautiful Eye Shadow Effect for Tan or Dark Skin

Here is a tip for women with tan or darker complexion. I saw it on Beyonce Knowles. Put a bronzer or an eyeshadow with bronze highlights all over the eyelid. Put black eyeliner along the lash line, then follow it with dark eyeshadow along the lash line. White eyeshadow on the upper lid is not a good idea. If you have warm tanned skin, this bronze color may suit you well. If you have fair skin, use caution, because the metallic sheen can give an aging appearance on your skin.

I am going to share with you three of my simple yet best-kept makeup secrets.

  1. First, for highlighting under the eyebrows to give a fresh, wide-awake look I use a pink highlighter pencil. You apply the pencil under the eyebrows, inside near the bridge of the nose, and to the outside between the eye and the hairline. Blend with a white foam sponge. I always feel as if I had taken off a couple of years after using this bright eye technique.

  2. My second secret is an eyeliner with shimmer. The glitter built into the pencil give my eyes an extra sparkle when I go out at night.

  3. My third secret is clear mascara. It is so difficult to find clear mascara nowadays, but having neat eyebrows all day really makes a difference.

The Key to Flawless Foundation

Types of Foundations

Most of us keep our foundation as close as our ATM card. And just like crisp cash, we tend to "spend" too much of it. That's the most common problem women make -- putting foundation all over their face when that's very rarely needed. When you get the right shade, and you know how and where to use it, you'll find you need very little.

But first which form do you choose? There are sticks, liquids, minerals, creams, and powders. If you have normal skin, you're fine with anything. Dry skin is best with a cream or liquid -- these glide easily over the skin. Oily skin is best with an oil-free liquid but a powder or mineral foundation is even better.

I almost always advocate the sheerest coverage possible. I like to see real skin through any foundation. It has life in it -- freckles and little idiosyncrasies are what make you... you . Liquid is the sheerest form of foundation. Powder, mineral and dual finish powder are less sheer. And cream can be the heaviest, most opaque of all.

Once you choose what to use, you can still control the amount of coverage. With a cream or liquid, use a damp sponge, foundation brush, or -- my favorite tool for applying foundation -- fingertips. I typically squirt some from my favorite pump formula onto the back of my hand and dab on from there. This warms it somewhat, and I don't have to deal with a dispenser while I apply.

To build more coverage, apply in thin layers, using a gentle patting motion so you never pull on the skin. Apply foundation with finger tips or makeup brush. Before applying concealer take finger tips or sponge and lightly dab face all over foundation. This will help better blend mistakes and foundation. You can also go super sheer by blending cream or liquid foundations with a bit of moisturizer. Though may brands of tinted moisturizers are available. With a pressed powder foundation, you can apply wet or dry with a sponge. Wet, you get more coverage. Dry will be more sheer.

It's also good to think ahead to what makeup you plan to apply over your foundation. Cream products are compatible with cream foundations. Powder colors work best over powder foundations.

So cream blush on top of a dual finish foundation? Bad idea. The powder will "grab" the cream blush and you won't be able to blend it into place. Powder blush on top of a liquid or cream foundation? Also a bad idea -- unless you brush loose powder over the foundation to create a compatible surface for your powder blush. Similarly, cream eye shadows should go over a cream foundation; powder shadows over powder.

A final word about finish: If you've used a cream foundation, your face will be dewy. If you want creams to go matte, add a final dusting of loose powder.

What Color Is Best?

Foundation should always match your skin tone. Don't try to fake a porcelain face when you aren't that fair. Likewise, don't try to fake a two week vacation in St. Bart's if you aren't that dark. Anything other than your real color will look like a mask. Color also depends on the lighting. Tips here are for in the day, more natural lighting like outdoors. Go for more bright or warm shades in sheer coverage when, night-lighting, going to clubs or in dim light.

When you put foundation on, it should disappear on the skin -- then you know it's the right shade. Another plus to a perfect match is that you won't have to wear it over your entire face, which is important because (I can't say this enough) most women don't need foundation all over.

Where Does It Go?
Always use foundation over the eyelids, even if you aren't using eye makeup. It cleans up tiny veins and uneven skin tone. Simply blend over the entire lid, and powder to set. If applying eyeshadow use a concealer before apply eye makeup to set. It will make makeup last longer and look better. Foundation and concealer goes under the eyes, too, to take minor circles away (really dark circles need concealer, then foundation). Concealer on the eyes in the day time - this is a great nude eye look on its own, also a great primer before applying eye color.

Another key spot: around the nostrils. Most people have some redness here to cover. For redness use concealer or foundation with a yellow base. Foundation around the eyes and nostrils makes such a difference, many women learn that's all they need. Everywhere else is an option.

I also like to put foundation over the lip line (not over the whole lip), so when I do the lips later, lip pencils glide easily. This gives you a clean line to work with -- and also hides any unevenness of your lip line. So people prefer concealer for this trick.

If you want a full face application, go for it. But the idea is to use foundation to perfect the skin, not hide it. Have fun that's what makeup is for and remember love the skin your in.

Preparation Of The Face For Makeup

This is very important, so that you can understand the high points of your face. Then you will be able to emphasize the best parts you like. For the best final result, you must meticulously prepare your face for the actual application of the makeup.

Identify The Structure Of Your Face:
Emphasize the excellent features of your face and camouflage your handicaps will improve self esteem. Faces are of 2 basic shapes:

1. Angular Faces are well delineated, with a strong bone structure and musculature. Angular faces could be trapezoidal, rectangular, square or triangular.
2. Round Faces, on the other hand, have curved, continuous, gently sloping lines, without any bony projections. Round faces can be oval or the true round form.

The ideal shape of a face is oval, so with the clever use of make-up, you must attempt to make your face appear oval. This can be done by using foundations of different tones-The dark shades(brown or tan) and the pale shades(white or light). Dark make-up tends to reduce, deepen, darken and conceal and is suitable for contouring prominent cheeks, large noses, chubby faces, and for the bags under the eyes. Pale makeup, on the other hand, enlarges lengthens, brightens, fills out, and covers the dark circles under the eyes. Note if the shade is too white it will make your dark circles more noticeable.

Getting Ready:
Before applying makeup, especially if you are dressing for a rather important occasion, you must prepare yourself in a special way. Massage your face with a nourishing cream, follow it up with a suitable mask.See that there are no dark hair visible on the face-bleach them or pluck them, if necessary. You might need to remove unwanted hair from your arms, legs and underarms.

Shaping Your Eyebrows:
The single most important point to remember when shaping your eyebrows is balance. Your facial shape would to a large extent determine the shape of your eyebrows. Here are some tips to help you decide on the shape of your eyebrows.

1. For A Trapezoidal Face: Slightly thick eyebrows drawn gently towards the temple.
2. For A Rectangular Face: Keep the eyebrows as natural as possible.
3. For A Square Face: Give a slightly rounded curve.
4. For A Triangular Face: Brows should not be too thick.Curve the brows slightly upwards.
5. For An Oval Face: Keep the brows parallel to the lid and drawn towards the temple.
6. For A Round Face: Brows should be slightly arched, in an oblique curve directed towards the temple.
Where To Begin And Where To End:
Take a pencil and hold it vertically alongside the outer corner of the nostril; the point where the pencil touches the eyebrow is the starting point. Then slant the pencil from the outer corner of the nostril to the outer corner of the eye, to show you where the arch should end. Then look straight ahead-the highest point for the eyebrows should be directly above the iris. Ideally, the distance between the two eyebrows should be equal to the width of one eye.

*LIPS*

Don't bolt with a tissue, this is because a tissue is made up of wood fibers. Use a coffee filter instead and you won't have all that gunk on your lips when your finished You'll be very happy with the results at the end, and when your finished just toss it.

Find a lip-liner you totally love. Put it on all across your bottom lip and some on your top lip. Then put some lip balm, clear gloss or a hint of color. A totally cute new creation that you must have to like.

After apply gloss or lipstick put a little white eyeshadow in the center of your lower lip. Rub your lips together till you get a subtle look. It gives your mouth a full, sexy, pouty look. To get the excess lipstick off your lips and or teeth make an "o' shape with your mouth and put your finger in it and pull it out slowly. It really works.!

Lipstick colors by skin color:

dark skin= plum, violet, chocolate, and brick red

medium skin=all reds, brown, mauve, and spicy browns.

light skin=peach, beige, corals, brown-pink, and magenta.

fair skin=pastel pink, sheer purples, and crystal rose.

Pick the right color! Choose a shade based on your skin coloring. Lighter berries for light skin types and deeper berries for darker skin types. If your complexion is cool tone, you'll look better in mavue or plum shades. If your complexion is pink, you'll look better in blue tone pinks, blue tone reds, and purple shades, while girls with yellow tones are flattered by warmer reds that have a brown base. Warm skin types will also look excellent in classic orange shades, such as amber. Peach and Coral lipstick should be reserved for Light and Warm skin types. Purples and most Pink lipsticks should be reserved for Cool skin types that are Light or Fair. Deep cool complexions look most flattering in Violet hued berry shades. Deep complexions that are Warm look excellent in a Brick Red or Deep Rust shades.

You may be saying to yourself, this all sounds confusing, but it doesn't have to be! The key is too remember warm or cool. Reserve pinks, purples, and blues for cool skin. Reserve brown, brown-pinks, oranges, and warm reds (such as Scarlet) for warm complexions. Now that you know your correct colors, all you have too do is decide how intense of a shade you should wear, depending on how fair or how deep your complexion is.

Deep and Tan skin types can go for drama. The dark features allow a heavier look. Be glamoures, and have fun with it. Medium skin types fall right in the middle. You're lucky. You can wear a plethora of shades ad combinations. All though you do best with an "Earthy" look. Light skin types need too keep it fresh and natural. Go for warmer tones that brighten your features. It will make you appear soft and inviting. Fair skin types need a majestic look. Paint with a light hand in cosmic shades, such as pinks and purples. You pull off the delicate, ethereal look better than anyone else. Remember sheer touches of cool colors.

How to Wear Red Lipstick

Red is a classic
Red is divine on medium, tan, and deep skin colors. Wear a true red if your skin is light or fair, for extreme drama. Line inside of lips Red lipstick tends to bleed, so fill in lips with lip liner . Go light on the eyes, polish, and the blush. Try light or clear colors so not to over power the red lips. Your lips should stand out only.

Red and Berries are universal, they come in an assortment of Cool and Warm tones. For these try on samples before you buy, to find the right pick for you.
Cool skined blondes look excellent in petal pinks. Cool skinned brunettes look divoon in lavenders, and sheer purples. Warm skinned blondes look superb in peaches and corals. Warm skinned brunettes look a knock-out in a crimson red or sultry rose. Redheads are fascinating in orangy browns.

Fair skinned people shoud opt for a Rose shade when wearing a red lipstick. Unlike the other complexions, true reds will look ghastly on delicate complexions. You want a crystal rose or tea rose.

If you have any questions on beauty? IE: How to put on a make up applications, what colors would look good on your skin type/color.* Or whatever you want to ask, I'll answer it ! You may do so bye leaving a comment. Thanks.

Super Omega 3, 6, 9; Why We Use Them

Borage Seed Oil:
For more than 1500 years, the blue, star-shaped flowers of the borage plant have been used in elixirs and medicinal teas because of its healing properties. This natural oil is a rich source of gamma linolenic acid and has been known to be used in the treatment of eczema and rheumatoid arthritis and in herbal medicine. This oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the borage plant. Borage oil, or "starflower", as the botanical is known, contains up to 24% Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA). GLA is an essential fatty acid which the body converts into prostaglandin, a hormone-like substance. Prostaglandin is reported to offer anti-inflammatory properties. In many studies it has been found that a deficiency in GLA attributes to poor skin condition, especially psoriasis and eczema.
