Eventually, the effects of time begin show on our faces. Here are four simple techniques to look your best no matter what age you are.
1. Instead of the traditional lip liner pencil, line your lips with a stiff bristled brush using your blush. This gives your lipstick the staying power that helps prevent any bleeding or feathering of your lip color around your lips.
2. To set your make-up, apply a loose translucent powder with a powder brush in the morning and do not reapply during the day. Excessive powder, especially from a compact, accentuates lines and wrinkles. If you need a touch up for shine, simply use a fluffy brush and smooth it over your face.
3. Lessening the appearance of jowls (the lines from the edge of the nose to the corner of the mouth) is accomplished with Beige or cream color highlighter. Using a highlighter de-emphasizes the shadow created by the jowl thus making it less noticeable. To lessen the appearance of a saggy neck, use a non-frosted powder slightly darker than your natural skin tone and apply it under your chin. This creates the effect of a shadow, therefore making it less prominent.
4. Forget the myth that you shouldn't wear frosted eye shadow over the age of thirty. Frosted eye shadows, if applied properly, can make you look young. Never use one color on the entire eyelid! Use one light color under your brow, one color on your eyelid close to your lashes and one slightly darker shade on the crease if desired. And, most of all... Blend, blend, blend!
Remember that subtlety is the key. Armed with these four techniques, you have the arsenal to take on aging and look your best!

Beautiful Eye Shadow Effect for Tan or Dark Skin
Here is a tip for women with tan or darker complexion. I saw it on Beyonce Knowles. Put a bronzer or an eyeshadow with bronze highlights all over the eyelid. Put black eyeliner along the lash line, then follow it with dark eyeshadow along the lash line. White eyeshadow on the upper lid is not a good idea. If you have warm tanned skin, this bronze color may suit you well. If you have fair skin, use caution, because the metallic sheen can give an aging appearance on your skin.
I am going to share with you three of my simple yet best-kept makeup secrets.
I am going to share with you three of my simple yet best-kept makeup secrets.
- First, for highlighting under the eyebrows to give a fresh, wide-awake look I use a pink highlighter pencil. You apply the pencil under the eyebrows, inside near the bridge of the nose, and to the outside between the eye and the hairline. Blend with a white foam sponge. I always feel as if I had taken off a couple of years after using this bright eye technique.
- My second secret is an eyeliner with shimmer. The glitter built into the pencil give my eyes an extra sparkle when I go out at night.
- My third secret is clear mascara. It is so difficult to find clear mascara nowadays, but having neat eyebrows all day really makes a difference.

Eye Makeup Application

According to Eye Shapes
Each eye shape can be enhanced if needed, with placement of eyeshadow. Small eyes can look larger and bulging eyes can be recessed a little. Wide apart eyes can have the illusion of being closer together. I trust these simple explanations can help with your eye shadow application.

SMALL EYES. to recognise this as your shape, there seems to be very little space between lashes and eyebrows, so we need to give the appearance of a much larger eye. Apply a light colour on the eye lid.
Use a darker shade in the socket (or crease) of eye and bring this colour to the outer corner to lengthen eye area. With a dark toned eyeliner, outline eye, intensifying colour slightly at outer edges of eye, then slightly smudge. Use a light highlighter along the brow bone to add width to eye.

DEEP SET EYES. This type appears like a hooded eye. Place a light coloured shadow over entire lid, and apply a highligher along the brow bone line. Use a darker toned shadow, and begin at the socket line and blend color out above the crease to recess the area.
Use a small amount of eyeliner, in a thin line for definition only along top lid and 2/3'rds along lower lid blending towards the outer edge.

NORMAL EYES. If you are fortunate enough to have this shape you can be as adventurous as you like. What you s
hould be aiming for with eye makeup is to make your eyes look even more attractive by giving them strength with the help of eyeliner pencil. A pale color can be blended on lid while a darker shade is smoothed into the outer corners and socket line to give more depth and character. Finish off with a coat of mascara.

Avoid frosted shadows completely. Apply a soft toned shadow, like a mossy green, light brown or grey
with a hint of blue in it, to the outer eye area, keeping the color close to the lashes. Use a soft peach color on your inner top lid. Mascara often looks too thick and unnatural on older eyes, so try to have lashed tinted instead OR apply mascara lightly.PROTRUDING EY
E Bulging - the goal here is to recess the eye lid, from seemingly to protrude. Use a dark toned eye shadow and blend this over the eye lid, fading colour away near eye socket. Apply eyeliner along top lid, and lightly smudge. On lower lid, draw eyeliner at outer corner only and smudge softly. Apply highligher on brow line. Please dont use light or frosted colours on eye lid, as this will make eyes pop out futher. With this eye shape, finish off with some navy or deep grey pencil on inner rims to help make the eyeballs appear smaller.

These need a dark shadow blended into out half of the eyes to give illusion that they are further apart. Start by drawing your pencil out a little just above
natural eye crease. now blend a strong colour into the outer area. The inner top lid area canbe left natural or a pale colour can be used if you like. When applying mascaras, brush your top lashes outwards, concentrating on the colour with an extra coat on outer lashes.
ASIAN EYE SHAPE
- usually has a minimal eye lid and eyes are wide space. Gently brush a light or neutral colour over eye area and blend towards nose area. Using a darker shadow, apply to lid, starting along lash line, and fading the colour upwards and out to a half-way pint between lash and eyebrow.Apply eyeliner close to lashes to give appearance of thickened lash line. Line the lower lid and smudge to soften the line.
WIDE SET EYES can appear closer set and more attractive if you emphasise the inner eye area with colour to draw eyes together. Apply eyeliner pencil all way across the bottom lid with only a tiny extension on the outer corners. Apply any strong coloured shadow to

your outer socket line, but instead of extending it up and out, angle it towards your inner brows. Further enhance this with a lighter shade on your inner lid and complete the look with mascara concentrating on inner lashes.
DROOPY EYES. These need to be lifted at the sides with the help of clever shading on the outer areas of the top lid.
A little extra eyeliner slanted upwards on the corners and further blended and subtly extended with shadow plus extra mascara on the top lashes.

*EYES*
Idea for a longer curl? Before using an eyelash curlers heat it with a blow dryer to get a better held curl. But don't let it get too hot, or you'll let it burn your eyelashes and or eye.
Using an old mascara brush as a brow brush? It works great after you thoroughly cleanse it under hot water and soap (To get the mascara off). Them dip the brush in alcohol and let it dry. After that use it as a brow brush and spray some hairspray on an old toothbrush to keep brows in place.
Puffy eyes? Try a luke warm green tea bag under your eyes to get those bags to go far away. The green tea acts similar too chamomile; which is calming for sensitive skin. 2nd Choice: To help with puffy bags under your eyes, put an ice cube under them for about 10 seconds.

Eye Makeup
Almond shaped eyes are considered to be the ideal. So when making up eyes, one tries with the help of li
ght and dark eye makeup to make the necessary changes to give the eyes an almond appearance.Eyeshadow
Application Technique:
The following steps are followed in the application of eyeshadow shades.
i. Using a fine, blunt-ended brush, gently apply the base colour to the entire lid from the inside to the outside corner and from the base of the lashes to the eyelid crease.
ii. If the eyes need extra definition, a deeper shade is blended into the crease line. This
gives depth to the eyes.iii. The brow bone is highlighted with a light shade. This gives the eyes a wide, open look. The colour is applied to the most prominent area and blended up towards the brow and down to where the contour curves down, toward the eyelid creases.
Before using them on the lids, always test the colours on the back of the hand to test the intensity. You can use even 3-4 colours, provided they are blended well.Remember pale tones emphasize, while deep sooty shades define
Eye Liners:
Application Technique For The Liquid Eyeliner -
Test, on the back of your hand, the amount of pressure you should apply. Unless you are a real artist, it is best to steady your elbow on a flat surface. Work from the inside of the eye to the outside corner and keep the line light and even. If you stop at the corner of the eyes, the effect will be round and wide-eyed;if you continue the line and sweep it up and out, you would get a more exotic look. Finally smudge the edges with a cotton bud to soften them.

Application Technique For The Pencil Eyeliner
Pencils can be used in the same manner to define or extend the shape of the eyes, but they give a softer, more natural line.Keep them sharpened and ready for use, as blunted or broken points can spoil the whole effect.
Correction Of Eyes Using Makeup:
You can improve your eye shape by experimenting with colour and texture.Identify the shape of your eyes and follow the tips given:
i. For Small Eyes: Pluck the eyebrows fine to give maximum eye area.Use a little shadow under the lower lashes as well as on the top of the lid.Blend the shadow on the upper lid from the centre outwards, curving it upwards towards the brow in the shape of a wing.Line both the lids, extending the meeting line fairly out, to increase the length of the eyes.Mascara both the upper and lower lashes, using two coats on the outer lashes only.
ii. For Wide-Set Eyes: Pencil the eyebrows close to each other.Add a little shadow onto the bridge of the nose or blend your shadow close to the corner of the nose and stop at the centre of the upper lid.To make the eyes appear a little closer, start outlining the upper lid from the inner corner of the eye, bringing it near the nose ridge, leaving just the width of one eye in between the two eyes.Continue the line towards the outer corner but not quite extending up to it.
iii. For Close-Set Eyes: Shape the eyebrows so that they don't have the close-together appearance.Use the eyeshadow on the upper outer half of the lid extending above the eye and under the brow.To offset the closeness of the eyes, start drawing the eye line on the upper lid away from the inner corner.Draw it up and out.Similarly, the lower line should not begin from the inner corner.
iv. For Deep-Set Eyes: Use a dark eyeshadow under the eyebrow, but not on the lid, where if you want to, you can use a lighter eyeshadow.Line only the lower lid and extend the line fairly out and up.
v. For Round Eyes: Make sure the shape of your eyebrows is angular. Blend your shadow from the centre of the lid and deepen it at the outer edge of the eye, extending it a little beyond the outer corner of the eye.Line the upper lids, starting from the inner corner and extend it out and up so as to suggest length.
