Mo'Nique Takes Home a Globe

I am so excited that Mo'Nique, actress and nominee, won an award for her role portraying a abusive parent in the searing movie drama Precious. Nicole Kidman a actress, and tonight a presenter opened the Golden Globes by reminding us we should donate money to the American Red Cross for the Haiti earthquake relief effort. She then handed out the first statuette of the night, presenting the best supporting actress prize to Mo'Nique for her performance in Precious.

Photo features Actress Mo'Nique, comedienne/actress, posing with her award after winning best supporting actress for a motion picture for her role in "Precious" at the 67th annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, California.

If she had not won it would have been a travesty and I'm glad she was not robe of this prestigious award. I never realized how talented Mo'Nique was until this movie, you go girl. She kept her speech short by thanking god, expressing her gratefulness. Next complementing her co-star, Paula Patton, that played her daughter Precious on her talent as an actress and her gratitude with working with such. "I tell y'all -- I'm shaking. I'm in the midst of my dream." Mo'Nique stammered. Now she will be finally preceived as a real serious actress.

Precious is based on the novel Push by Sapphire . Directed by Lee Daniels. With Gabourey Sidibe, Mo'Nique, Paula Patton. In Harlem, an overweight, illiterate teen who is pregnant with her second child to dream bigger brighter dreams.
