How To Apply Red Lipstick

1. Apply a light layer of foundation to your lips. Allow a few seconds to dry.

2. Dust the lips with a layer of powder.

3. Outline lips with lip liner if your lipstick tends to bleed at the edges. Be sure that the pencil matches your lip color.

4. Apply color (with a brush) to the center of your lips first and then brush color out toward the edges. This little rule of thumb will prevent you from applying too much. With the intensiveness of the lip color, a thin wash of color is all that is needed.

5. Blot lips with a tissue.

6. Re-apply a second layer of lipstick with your lip brush. The application of the second layer over a blotted first layer will ensure that your color lasts for hours.

Tips:
If your lips are too thin, bright reds will make them look more prominent.
Lips that are too full can be minimized by using brown or blue reds.
Having a hard time finding a red that suits you? Go to a cosmetic counter and ask for help. The salesperson will be happy to assist you. (It is in their best interest to provide you with the best shade for your coloring.)

There is a red for you. Everyone can wear red, you simply have to find the right shade. With my yellow skin tones, my best reds have either orange or brown added to the formulation.

How to Curl Your Eye Lashes

Since we can't all be blessed with long lashes, thank goodness mascara can make it look as if we were. All Hollywood movie stars and singers wear false eyelashes, but if you'd rather wear mascara... Here is a very simple method of applying mascara for every day wear.

This technique is for women that either can't afford a eyelash curler. The inexpensive ones padding is too thin. Or perhaps you want to know how your great grandmother use to curl her lashes before the eye lash curler was invented.

Draw wand out of mascara tube and remove the excess on a piece of paper towel or tissue.

Hold wand horizontally and slowly twirl as you move the brush from the roots to the tips.
To set curl, hold wand and lashes together at the tips for a several seconds.

Apply second coat before the first coat has dried to avoid clumping.

Apply mascara carefully to the bottom lashes, holding wand vertically.

While lashes are still wet, comb through the lashes (carefully) with a lash comb to separate each lash.

Tips:

1. Be sure to wash off your mascara each night. Not only will it smear during the night, you won't be able to apply more until your lashes are free from the old mascara.

2. Mascara is a breeding ground for germs. Be sure to replace it every three months.

3. Never pump the wand into the tube. This procedure only adds air to the mascara, drying it out.
